KICC through the years

A brief history

Construction of The Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) began in the late 1960s
Designed by Norwegian architect Karl Henrik Nøstvik and Kenya’s David Mutiso
Officially opened by Kenya’s founding father, President Jomo Kenyatta in 1973
It was the most iconic structure of its time being the only building in the city with a helipad open to the public
KICC put Kenya on the map as Africa's second-best international MICE destination, popular for business and conference tourism
